I just like to move ra and dec just a touch in random directions. It’s not too hard because I have a spotter scope that I can look through and make sure I don’t move around too far off target. So do you remember if there was a way to set the exposure time in smart shooter? For example if I select bulb mode can I set it for 300 seconds? Also about dithering, I can easily manually dither. Looks like a free download too which is cool. I just looked up smart shooter 3 and it turns out there is now a smart shooter 4. Here are some tips: Manual Mode on the Camera - I usually shoot in Aperture Priority, but for Sofortbild, I like to shoot in manual mode. Tap Select Activity Zones, tap the video to create a zone, then tap Add Zone. If the webcam is compatible, youll see a notification that the camera can be used. Please review the videos on this page to see the software in use. On the Home tab, tap the camera tile, then tap. Connect the webcam and adapter to your Fire TV Cube, and turn on your TV. The options available are exactly like the options available on the camera. If you have no plans to use a mount or to dither it's just much easier to buy a good intervalometer. Using Sofortbild The interface to Sofortbild is self explanatory. Dithering is quite important for removal of noise from the DSLR. I'm assuming you're on a Mac and want to stay on that platform? The real shortcoming with most of the basic programs that are not designed for astrophotography is there is no way to dither if you're using a tracking mount. I moved to SmartShooter 3 for awhile and it worked pretty well. I used it for a very short time but found it to be impractical. SofortBild is a free tethering software for Mac users working with Nikon cameras.
